Iconic characters from Akira Toriyama’sDragon Ballfranchise continue to inspire talentedfan artists, including one whose previous work replicating Masashi Kishimoto’sNarutoart style recently adapted the Cell Saga’s Androids like never before. Many of history’s greatest mangaka develop an evolving visual identity synonymous with the author. While Toriyama’s work influenced the creators ofbeloved franchises likeOne PieceandNaruto, each has visual styles that are radically different from the other, which is why when a talented artist crosses the styles together, it can yield fascinating results.

Throughout Akira Toriyama’s legendary career, his art style changed and evolved. His work on series likeDr.Slumpand earlyDragon Ballfeatured more rounded environments and character designs compared to his later work with the sharp and dynamic visuals of most ofDragon Ball Z’s arcs.Narutois a series whose visual identity stayed more similar over time thanDragon Balls, which is one reason whyfan artist andXuser BrentonsArt’smastery ofreplicating Masashi Kishimoto’s style looks so striking when adapting Toriyama’s Android’s #16, #17, and #18.

Dr.Gero’s Androids Look Like They Could Belong In Naruto’s World

TheBorutoSequel Series Eventually Introduces Its Own Version of Androids

Fanart showcasing Sasuke’s daughter Saradaalong with her family previously proved BrentonArt’s talents. However, as pointed out in his recent post, they are trying something new by creating their firstDragon Ballpiece. It features Androids #16, #17, and #18 taking a moment and enjoying nature before the conniving Cell splits the trio. However, the sharp, thick linework that helped create the iconic characters has been replaced with a rounded and softer look with features faithful to theDragon Ball Zmanga. However, one could be easily fooled into thinking BrentonArt’s was a legitimate panel from theNarutomanga.

Dragon Ball’s Androids went on to do great things after their introductions, including helping save the world, starting a family with one ofEarth’s strongestDragon Ballheroes, and becoming the winner of the Tournament of Power and savior of the multiverse. Suppose any of Dr. Gero’s creations somehow found their way intoNarutoandBoruto’s universe. In that case, there are only a few ninjas who would be able to put up much of a fight against the creations who are technically cyborgs because they were normal humans with robotic implants rather than fully mechanical androids.
