Given how much of Bucky’s life this experience took up, it stands to reason that the Winter Soldier is still at the forefront of his mind, even if he no longer is beholden to the trigger words previously used to make him into that figure. WithThunderbolts*taking Bucky back into a world of antiheroes that’s sure to remind him of his time as a brainwashed HYDRA agent, it wouldn’t be shocking for the quiet demeanor shown in the movie’s trailer to simply be reflective of him dealing with these lingering memories while taking part in the events of the story.
