What “Lux’s” Story Means For Doctor Who Season 15

A New Foe May Be Arriving, But Lux Will Likely Explore The TARDIS’s Latest Troubles

As season 15’s opening episode “The Robot Revolution” established that the TARDIS cannot currently land in the present day, it appears “Lux” is set to dive directly into the situation further. Though they cannot materialize directly in the present, it appears thatthe Doctor and Belinda are at least not restricted to reaching Earth in different periods. Despite this, it remains to be seen whether this is applicable for times beyond their May 2025 target.

Why The TARDIS Can’t Take Belinda Home In Doctor Who Season 15, Episode 1

The TARDIS experiences some navigational issues in Doctor Who’s season 15 opener, and it’s not that hard to figure out why it’s happening.

However, before the Doctor and Belinda can even dream about going home, they will have to face the unusual terror of Mr. Ring-a-Ding. The Doctor is hardly unfamiliar with entities terrorizing humanity thanks to his encounters with The Wire (Maureen Lipman) during Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in season 2’s “The Idiot’s Lantern.” However, Mr. Ring-a-Ding’s ability to leave the screen and alter his shape sets him apart from the past foe. WithDoctor Whohaving already thrown Gatwa’s Doctor against Maestro (Jinxx Monsoon), the god of music, perhaps Ring-a-Ding is also a manifestation of art.

Our Thoughts On Doctor Who “Lux’s” Preview

The Villain Is Unlike Any Other Past Foe

Regardless of what Mr. Ring-a-Ding is, “Lux” is one ofDoctor Whoseason 15’s most anticipated episodes. The villain is unlike anything that the Time Lord has faced on a purely technical level thanks to his nature as a living 2D cartoon, leaving many viewers wondering how the show will convey his powers. However, with the Doctor and Belinda stepping into his abandoned theater in the dead of night, perhaps Mr. Ring-a-Ding is a far more terrifying foe than his cartoonish appearance suggests.

NewDoctor Whoseason 15 episodes drop on Disney+ on Saturdays at 3 am ET.
