What Will Appear in Disney Lorcana’s Next Sets?

Disney Lorcana’s Next Sets Come Out in March and Q2 2025

As of right now,Disney Lorcanahas not revealed any new details aboutArchazia’s IslandorReign of Jafaroutside of some key art and release dates. However,Reign of Jafarappears to be the culmination of Lorcana’s second storyline, which focused on the sudden collapse of the Great Illuminary and a broken artifact called the Hexwell Crown. The key art forReign of Jafarfeatures Jafar wearing the reformed Hexwell Crown, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a special Illumineer’s Quest box set that focuses on multiple players defeating Jafar to finish the storyline.

Disney Lorcana Releasing Moana 2 Promo Card In Theaters, But You’ll Have To Be Fast To Get One

Disney Lorcana fans will want to hurry to a Cinemark movie theater beginning December 6 to snag a beautiful new promo card, if they’re lucky.

Archazia’s Island’s key art contains the catchphrase “Learn New Tricks” and also features a new kind of symbol within its art. Archazia isn’t a Disney character, so it’s likely that this is a character created just forDisney Lorcana. “Learn New Tricks” could refer to a brand-new mechanic of some kind,or it could be an indication of an animal focus for the next set, with cards meant to boost Dog-themed decks. The appearance of Bolt lends some credence to the latter theory, although we’ll likely have to wait until next year for more details.

Our Take: Bring On New Disney Lorcana Mechanics

More Mechanics Would Shake Up Disney Lorcana

Disney Lorcanahas wisely focused on strengthening existing deck archetypes over its last two sets, with cards mainly serving to add more variety to popular deck builds. While the earlyDisney Lorcanasets introduced new mechanics to the game, that hasn’t been the case for the last two sets. Personally,I think it’s time forDisney Lorcanato shake things up with a new mechanic of some kind.

Whether that’s a new card type (such as the aforementioned Tricks) or some kind of new keyword, I think that 2025 would be the perfect time forDisney Lorcanato bring new decks to the forefront instead of strengthening existing ones.
