Now that the conclusion ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’sA Rift in Timeexpansion has been delivered, players are finally free to offer a second chance to Jafar, who will first need help retrieving some tools from The Cave of Wonders. To help Jafar find the tools he needs, you’ll first need to initiate his first friendship quests.
Jafar’s firstfriendship quest inDisney Dreamlight Valleyis known as “The Optics of a Second Chance.” To begin this quest, you’ll first need to unlock Jafar as a villager by completing the main story plot forA Rift In Time. Furthermore, this quest will not become available until you level him up to level 2 friendship.

Where To Find Jafar’s Tools In Disney Dreamlight Valley
Help Jafar Recover His Tools
As seen inAkifini’s Gaming’s video on Youtube, once you’ve begun “The Optics of a Second Chance,” speak with Jafar, and he will let you know that he needs your help retrieving some of his tools.Specifically, he needs help finding his Polished Mirror, 2 Photonic Levers, and Power Cables.
The first three items can be found in the Cave of Wonders in the Glittering Dunes, but the Power Cables can only be found in EVE’s house. For this reason, you will need to level up your friendship with EVE enough that you have access to her home to start this quest.
If you do not have access to Jafar after completing theA Rift In Time DLC, it is likely because you have not completed The Lesser Evil quest that formally unlocks him. This can be initiated by collecting any strange 2D items appearing on Eternity Isle and then speaking with Oswald.
Since you should have completed every puzzle in the Cave of Wonders the first time you come through this area inAct 1 of theA Rift in TimeDLC, looking for the tools inside should be a rather smooth process. This is quite a relief, as looking for these three items is the most challenging part of this task, especially since the last tool can be found right inside EVE’s house.
Photonic Lever 1
Cave of Wonders
Simply head on in and up the two small flights of stairs until you’re on the landing with a path on either side and the door leading to the statue in the middle. Immediately to the right, at the top of the stairs, you should find the lever next to a gold pile.
Photonic Lever 2
If you head into the puzzle room on the right side, with the floor platforms that had to be turned, descend the stairs, and you should see the second lever lying on the left-hand side.
Polished Mirror
For the Polished Mirror, leave the floor puzzle room and head into the puzzle room on the opposite side, where lasers all point at different mirrors. Enter the room and make an immediate right, following the path down. When you reach a lever on your right, don’t continue up the path; turn left, and you should reach a dead end where the mirror can be found.
Power Cables
EVE’s Home
The last item is the most straightforward of the bunch. Simply head toEVE’s house on Eternity Isleand collect the Power Cables off the floor.
Once you have all four tools for Jafar, bring them back to him to continue the “Optics of a Second Chance” friendship quest.Don’t forget that you’ll need to continue leveling him up after this quest if you hope to max out his friendship.Now that he’s at level 2, you can invite him to hang out, which is always a great way to boost friendship while completing other quests and duties inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
