Aside from Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, Disney Dreamlight Valley is getting some quality-of-life updates that might be even more exciting.

9New Floating Islands With Water Features

Four New Islands With Different Biomes

Floating islands inDreamlight Valleyare a relatively new addition to the game, meant to help players who have finished the main story expand their Valleys to the literal skies. Each island isbased on a different type of environmentand is the perfect place for players to try out new themes, decorate, orsimply use as a bonus storage area.

Fans were mostly excited about the new feature when it was introduced, but lamented the lack of water features. TheTales of Agrabahupdate addressed this, adding four new islands with elements of water to play around with. The new islands are inspired by the Peaceful Meadow, Dazzle Beach, Glade of Trust, and Forgotten Lands.Unlocking these islands requires 15,000 Dreamlight, but it’s worth it for the opportunity to play with some unique biomes.

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Tales Of Agrabah Update Looks Great, But Something’s Still Missing

The Tales of Agrabah update is bringing a lot of new & exciting content to Disney Dreamlight Valley, but a few notable friends are still missing.

At the time of this writing, there are two of these paid DLCs,Storybook ValeandA Rift in Time, and each has many new items. If you have a DLC, it might be difficult to remember where you got that fish or fruit. Items from Dreamlight Valley (the base game), Eternity Isle (theRift in TimeDLC), or Storybook Vale (theStorybook ValeDLC) are nowindicated by small icons next to the item name in the inventory. This will also make it easier to sort through your items as more add-on content packs are rolled out in the future.

6Searchable Ingredients In The Recipes Tab

Find The Recipe You’re Looking For With Ease

As I said earlier, it can be fun to experiment with different recipes, but there are also times when you just need tocook something specific. In these occasions, you might want to just find your recipe and get on with your gaming session. BeforeTales of Agrabah, you’d have tomanually scroll through the recipes list to find what you’re looking for, which could be time-consuming and frustrating.

Scroll no more:DDVhas cooked upa search function that lets you browse for recipesby searching for a specific ingredient and dish name. Results will show you both recipes with the word in their name and ones that are made using the ingredients you searched up. For a less specific search, the new search function also lets you filter by meal type, ingredient type, and star rating. This cuts the cooking time and leaves you free to work on other projects, like designing the ultimatestorage solution for your collection of gems.

5The Cooking Menu Is Split Into Categories

For Easier Navigation Of Your Daily Cooking Tasks

The cooking menu got another update in addition to a searchable recipe catalog. It now alsoclearly shows which dishes are needed for which purpose. The newly redesigned cooking tab now splits recipes into tabs so it’s easier to see which dishes are needed for the restaurant, which are required for a quest, and which are villagers’ favorite gifts for that day.

Instead of asking each villager for their desired meals, you can nowsimply go to the cooking tab and see the information at a glance. Scroll between the different tabs to see the restaurant orders, quest requirements, favorite gifts, and more. You can also see which characters want each of the items. You can also add recipes to your favorites, which will show up in a separate tab for easy access to your favorite dish to enjoy when you’re hard at work clearing Night Thorns from the Valley.

4A New Magic Carpet Glider

Fly Around The Valley In Style

Gliders are under-utilized inDisney Dreamlight Valleyand that’s a shame because it’s so much fun to glide around the Valley at high speed atop something fun.Every player can use a default sparkly glideras long as they have enough stamina. Besides this option, though, there are only three other gliders in the game (not counting wings), all of which cost real money.

You can activate your glider by getting more than your maximum amount of stamina, which you can do by eating enough food to fill the bar, and then eating even more. This will turn the energy bar yellow and give you the Well Fed status, allowing you to hop onto your ephemeral glider (at least for a short while, as using the glider depletes your energy!).

Now,players can travel in style thanks to the new glider fromTales of Agrabah.Unlocking the Magic Carpet gliderrequires the completion of a few quests with several Valley residents, including Aladdin, and serves as a stylish and free alternative to the standard glider option. Note that this is not the same carpet that appears as a companion in the update, but a second version with a different design, a detail that perceptiveDDVplayers spotted and predicted before the expansion was officially released.

3Aladdin’s Gem Stall Makes It Easier To Find The Gems You Want

Requires Completing Level 10 Of His Friendship Quest

New characters inDisney Dreamlight Valleymean new friendship quests to complete and bonds to strengthen. Aladdin’s friendship quest is especially exciting since it brings a new feature to the game that’s extremely helpful for many fans. The update brings a new gem stall to the Valley, whereAladdin will sell players a rotating selection of gemsevery day.

Unlocking Aladdin’s gem stalldoes require quite a bit of work. Not only do you need to complete the quest to bring Aladdin and Jasmine into the Valley, but you will have to increase Aladdin’s friendship level to 10 and complete his final friendship quest, which involves doing every friendship quest that comes before it. It’s not an easy feat, but the payoff is worth it:a stall that sells six gems with an inventory that changes every dayand a chance to find rare gems without having to go out mining.

2House Customization Lets You Change Room Sizes

You No Longer Need To Have Massive Bathrooms

The player’s house is a special space all for themselves that they’re free to decorate and design at their whim with any of the hundreds of decor items in the game. And, with up to 20 floors and three rooms per floor,Dreamlight Valleyhas plenty of space to grow and decorate. The only real limit has always been the room sizes since the preset sizes didn’t always work for each type of room. As a result, players sometimes ended up with awkwardly designed rooms that didn’t make much sense, like oversized bathrooms.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Star Paths Are Still Neglecting Way Too Many Players

Disney Dreamlight Valley has released a new star path themed after Aladdin. Yet, this Star Path is still neglecting a good portion of players.

Now, players have much more freedom in the shape and size of their rooms. For a small fee per resize, players can create custom-sized rooms that aren’t limited to squares. The update makes it so much easier to be creative and design cozy spaces that fit snugly within their designated room shapes.

1Inventory Icons Indicating Friendship Gifts

No More Accidental Selling Of Friendship Gift Items

Increasing the friendship with characters grants special rewards, improves foraging skills, and generally opens up new opportunities for interacting with the world. One effective way to increase friendships is by gifting characters their favorite item for the day, which you can find out by talking to them. There have been too many times to count when Isold an item, only to discover minutes later that it was a villager’s favorite item of the day.

There’s no need to guess anymore, as your inventory now makes it clear what items your valley residents are craving today.Favorite friendship items are marked in the inventory with a little blue and white gift iconso that you know exactly what your Valley friends want.

you’re able to tell which character wants which item by hovering over it, which will cause an icon of their face to appear on the bottom right of the inventory.

The inventory tag makes it so much easier to know which items to hold on to and which are safe to sell or throw away. Like so many of the updates in theTales of Agrabahupdate toDisney Dreamlight Valley, this small change makes a huge difference in making the game even more fun for everyone.
