The big concept that distinguishesPalworldfromPokémonis its status as a survival crafting game, but as one player has now proven, it’s not actually 100% necessary to embrace the crafting component. Plenty of essential components ofPalworldare only achieved through building, from the Palbox used to revive Pals to most of the game’s defensive options. Although avoiding the building process essentially reworksPalworld’s difficulty could look impossible at a glance, seemingly impossible things sometimes just turn out to be brutally difficult.
The no-building run ofPalworldwas accomplished by Reddit userballom29, who documented the feat in a video showcasing the fight with Saya & Selyne. As the final confrontationPalworld’s Sakurajima update, Saya & Selyne as the ultimate test of aPalworldplayer’s mettle, andbeating them without any building throughout the game is almost unbelievable.

Without building, ballom29 had to use a lot of underpowered gear, and despite having a level 55 Necromus Pal in the video, the armor and weapons are surprisingly basic for the fight. A comment fromballom29notes that Selyne was capable of one-shotting them, making the fight an incredibly high-risk scenario that happened to work out well on the 10th attempt.
Avoiding Building Makes Beating Palworld Slow & Difficult
So Many Things Require Workarounds
BeatingPalworld’s without crafting is the sort of grueling, arbitrary challenge that would never appeal to or even occur to most players, but it’s always fascinating and impressive to see someone take on a trial that intense. While some self-imposed restrictions can be fun,the amount of in-game currency needed to cover many core items and features without building quickly becomes astronomical, making for a potentially painful grind. Virtually everything slows to a similar crawl, including movement itself, as there’s no way touse mounts inPalworldwithout the workbench.
Our Take On A Huge Palworld Achievement
A Bolder Feat Than The Game Itself
Greatness can sometimes require a bit of masochism, and ballom29’sPalworldsuccess is definitely one for history books. It’s also an interesting way to highlight howthe game’s gameplay loop leans on survival crafting standards, as handling things withoutany building inPalworldmeans missing out on many core opportunities that are otherwise taken for granted.
Does Palworld PS5 Have Crossplay?
Palworld is now available for PC, Xbox, and PS5, but is there crossplay between the consoles? Can gamers play together across the different platforms?
Crafting is a gameplay feature that isn’t for everyone, but anyone who wants to avoid it without experiencing these intense repercussions will likely find more success withPokémonitself or other alternatives in the creature-collecting genre. FuturePalworldupdates could introduce even more trials to overcome, but if beating Saya & Selyne without building proves anything, it’s that ballom29’s adaptability and resilience doesn’t know the normal bounds.
