The Batman of Zur-En-Arrh-Infused Failsafe Reveals New Healing Factor (But How Did He Get It?)

Despite Failsafe’s impressive track record of defeating some of DC’s most formidable heroes, including Batman and Superman, Nightwing and his small team manage to inflict severe damage on the robot using heavy artillery and explosives. By the end of the fight, Failsafe is severely damaged, with exposed inner wires and large chunks of his outer armor missing. In his battered state, the robot taunts Nightwing, saying,“It’s over, Dick.“Nightwing responds by pointing out the severe damage they’ve inflicted, implying that if it’s over for anyone, it’s over for Failsafe. However, the robot soon reveals his hidden ability to self-repair, quickly regaining the upper hand in the battle.

Failsafe’s new healing factor is almost instantaneous, as he repairs himself right before Dick’s eyes, leaving the hero speechless since this was an ability Failsafe didn’t previously possess. This raises the question of how the robot acquired this newfound power. While it’s possible that Failsafe upgraded himself, it’s more likely that these enhancements came from Brainiac Queen—an extremely powerful android built by Brainiac Prime, with abilities like hacking, technopathy, and other technology-based powers. Given that she was able to transformSuperman’s son into a murderous cyborg, it’s well within her capabilities to have upgraded Failsafe with a healing factor.

As previously mentioned, Failsafe provided Waller with the six Amazos that form her Task Force VII. He also played a crucial role in collecting various Zur-En-Arrh Batmen from across the multiverse and infusing their consciousness into the Amazos, making the robots even more dangerous. Despite these major contributions toAbsolute Power, Failsafe hasn’t been a central focus in the narrative, only making brief cameos across various titles. However,Task Force VII#4 brings Failsafe back into the spotlight, showing him actively rounding up Earth’s heroes. With his new healing factor, this evilBatmanhas become an even greater threat, making him nearly impossible to defeat.
