Talia al Ghul is best known among fans as one ofBatman’smost iconic romances in comics and for her role inThe Dark Knight Rises, where she was part of a major plot twist involving one of the Caped Crusader’s most notorious adversaries,Bane. Throughout these various mediums, Talia has sported numerous outfits. However, her latest redesign is by far her most stunning and should set the new standard for her character’s portrayal.

Talia al Ghul’s redesign is exceptionally badass and deeply rooted in the character’s heritage, making it a worthy design standard for all future portrayals of the Demon’s Daughter.
The fan-favoriteElseworldsseries,Batman: Gotham By Gaslight, has officially returned with Andy Diggle, Leandro Fernández, and Dave Stewart’s sequel,Batman: Gotham by Gaslight—The Kryptonian Age#1. This series reimagines beloved characters in the 19th century, giving them unique and intriguing redesigns.

Both Batman andCatwoman have showcased their new looksfor the series. However, they are not alone, as the final panel of the inaugural issuereveals Talia al Ghul in a stunningly gorgeous ensemble that pays tribute to her Middle Eastern heritage, marking her best look yet.
Talia al Ghul’s New Redesign Is BY FAR Her Most Gorgeous Look In Comics (& Needs To Be the New Standard)
Batman: Gotham by Gaslight—The Kryptonian Age #1features Talia al Ghul in a traditional outer garment known as an abaya, a long, black flowing robe typically worn by some women in the Middle East and North Africa. Along with the abaya, Talia dons a hijab and a niqāb. Her hijab and niqāb are particularly striking, adorned with woven elements and jewel-like embellishments, befitting the heir to the League of Shadows. This ensemble, beautifully rendered by artist Leandro Fernández, serves as a stunning tribute to Talia’s Middle Eastern heritage.
In addition to the abaya, hijab, and niqāb, Talia sports a bejeweled curved dagger known as a jambiya, held within a belted sash and covered by a box satchel. The jambiya, originating from Yemen, adds a unique touch to her outfit. She also wields twin slim scimitars distinguished by gilded cross guards. Although scimitars were commonly used in the Middle East and Western Asia, Talia’s scimitars are non-traditional and almost resemble European sabers in design. This look is exceptionally badass and deeply rooted in the character’s heritage, making it a worthy design standard for all future portrayals of the Demon’s Daughter.

The last page features Talia, blades drawn, standing over a seemingly mortally injured Batman. Her concluding line, “I shall grant you the mercy of a swift death. When you reach the gates of Hell, tell them Talia al Ghul sent you!” is as dramatic as it is badass.
