There have been many entitled crew members in theBelow Deckfranchise over the years, but there are some who are more shocking than others. Many different personalities sail the high seas as deckhands, stews, and chefs, but some seem to think they deserve special treatment. Below Deck Mediterraneanseason 9 has been marred with controversy. Chef Johnathan “Jono” Shillingford, Bri Muller, and Elena “Ellie” Dubaich have all been accused of beingproducer plants to enhanceBelow Deck Meddramaon the wild season. 10Lexi Wilson

Below Deck Mediterranean

Lexi’s entitlement caused her to clash with nearly all of her crew members. One notable instance occurred during a crew dinner, where she insulted Mzi “Zee” Dempers, repeatedly belittling him without apologizing. She was also appallingly bad at her job, sometimes acting as though certain tasks were beneath her.Lexi even alluded to being too good for her jobmultiple times on camera. Her attitude meant that nobody wanted to work with her. Lexi also bragged about coming from a wealthy background, which added to her entitlement.

She had initially given Lexi many chances to improve, but ultimately concluded that her disruptive presence was affecting the team.

9Rhylee Gerber

Below Deck

Rhylee Gerber starred inBelow Deckseasons 6 and 7, and seemed to expect special treatment from the beginning. She regularly questioned the leadership of her bosuns, Chandler Brooks in season 6 and Ashton Pienaar in season 7, refusing to accept their feedback. She believed she knew better than them. For instance, in season 7, Rhylee frequently argued with Ashton when assigned tasks, expressing frustration when she wasn’t given equal time at the helm compared to her male counterparts. While wanting equal opportunities is valid, her experience never matched her demands.

Sexism is rampant in the yachting world, and female leaders like Captain Sandy fight for the rights of women in the industry. Rhylee’s skill level doesn’t match her attitude.

Additionally, Rhylee’s combative interactions with the male deckhands often escalated into conflicts, like her blow-up with Tanner Sterback.Rhylee would bypass her superiors and go straight to Captain Lee Rosbach, expecting him to side with her. This behavior made her one of the most spoiledBelow Deckcast members of all time.

8Joe Bradley

Joe acts high and mighty during his interactions with female crew members, and while performing his lead deckhand duties. He seems to believe he’s entitled to the girls' emotions, especially Bri and Ellie. However, when Carrie was added to the crew, he immediately went after her as well. It’s unclear whether Joe and Carrie hooked up or connected in any way romantically after the crew night out. However, Joe goes for every woman that comes his way.

Hometown

However, he doesn’t have Gael’s heart, and that seems to bother him.Joe unfairly criticizes Gael’s work ethicand skills as a deckhand.Gael is the only female deckhand onboardthe Mustique, and he can’t manipulate her emotions due to her relationship with Nathan Gallagher. Joe feels he’s entitled to female attention, and Gael isn’t giving it to him. However, she’s suffering because of it.

7Iain Maclean

Iain Maclean managed to keep his jobonBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 9, but he should have been fired. He’s been a subpar bosun for an entire season, and Captain Sandy gave him way too many chances. One key factor is his tendency to be too heavy-handed in terms of showing his authority. Sometimes, he acts as though his decisions are beyond question while making silly mistakes, which Captain Sandy calls him out for. This often leads him to be dismissive of Joe, his lead deckhand. It also gives Joe power he doesn’t necessarily deserve, leading to issues with Gael.

32

Cape Town, South Africa

Iain feels entitled to praise from Captain Sandy, disagreeing with her assertions that he’s not performing to her standards. When faced with conflict, he tends to defend his actions rather than taking responsibility, making him appear inflexible, and unwilling to compromise. Iain seems to think he deserves to be treated with respect despite his incompetence.

6Hannah Ferrier

Hannah Ferrier was a strong stew, but she eventually became quite sneaky and arrogant. For example, she was embroiled in an ongoing power struggle with Captain Sandy, always undermining her boss' authority. For instance, during season 5, Hannah was reprimanded multiple times for her poor organizational skills in the interior - she was failing to lead her team. She often responded with indifference, giving the impression that she felt she was above following protocol.

Hannah likes to play the victim regarding being fired fromBelow Deck Mediterranean, but she broke maritime laws. Captain Sandy’s actions were warranted.

The final nail in the coffin for Hannah was her infamous handling of thevalium and vape pen incidentin season 5, which showed her unwillingness to take accountability. She acted shocked when Captain Sandy and Malia White addressed the issue, leading to her firing. While Captain Sandy and Hannah’s feud has ended, she’ll always be remembered for the way she handled herBelow Deck Mediterraneandismissal.

5Caroline Bedol

As a third stew,Caroline Bedol struggled with the demands of the job, often blaming her superiors and crewmates for her inability to keep up. She was always complaining about Chief Stew Kate Chastain and second stew Josiah Carter. While her main complaints were that she was being overworked or unfairly treated, there was no evidence of this on the show. She seemed unable to handle even the most basic tasks. Then, she played the victim when she was criticized.

Caroline didn’t seem to understand or adhere to the hierarchy onBelow Deck, believing herself to be above the rules.

She abruptly left the boat mid-charter, leaving the crew high and dry. Despite being offered help and understanding from Kate and Josiah, Caroline’s defensiveness and repeated complaints about feeling mistreated painted her as someone unwilling to recognize her own shortcomings. Her behavior makes her one of the more entitled cast members to ever appear inBelow Deck. Ultimately, it’s probably best that she left.

4Elizabeth Frankini

Elizabeth Frankini most famously mixed cleaning chemicals, causing a dangerous “mustard gas” situation in the interior. Instead of owning up to her mistake and taking responsibility, Elizabeth downplayed the severity of the situation and blamed her lack of training. Understandably, this didn’t sit well with Chief Stew Francesca Rubi.

Despite receiving constant feedback on laundry and service, she shrugged off her mistakes and didn’t seem to take her job seriously. She also had an ongoing fling with deckhand James Hough, which distracted her from her work. Elizabeth spent more time focusing on this relationship than improving her performance, even after being warned multiple times. She felt entitled to her position.

She acted hard done by, and eventually, the die was cast. Francesca and Captain Lee let her go. Instead of reflecting on her errors,Elizabeth blamed Francesca for being too harsh. This showcased her inability to understand that her incompetence had consequences.

3Ashton Pienaar

Ashton almost got himself killed onBelow Deck, but his entitlement and arrogance showed that his errors weren’t honest mistakes. As a bosun onBelow Deck, he definitely earned a spot on the list. The biggest example is the infamous van incident, where he became aggressive towards Kate. Ashton, after a night of drinking, exploded when Kate made a sarcastic comment, leading him to punch the van window and act as though his position on deck gave him leeway to treat others with disrespect.

His entitlement extended to his management style as bosun, where he often delegated tasks in a condescending way, refusing to accept constructive criticism or own up to mistakes. This arrogance was further displayed in his interactions with deckhand Rhylee, whom he treated dismissively, continually undermining her skills and questioning her authority simply because she was a woman. Ashton’s expectation that his behavior would be excused because of his role on the boat or his “bro code” mentality with the male crew added to his entitled persona. While Rhylee could be entitled or incompetent herself, Ashton was way worse.

2Chef Mila Kolomeitseva

Chef Mila Kolomeitseva fromBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 4 quickly became one of the most controversial and entitled cast members in the show’s history. Despite boasting credentials as a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Mila’s performance was shockingly subpar, and her refusal to take responsibility for her mistakes showcased her entitlement. She had the audacity to serve pre-made, canned food, like tacos with store-bought tortillas and nacho cheese, on a high-end yacht charter.

When confronted by Captain Sandy, Chef Mila deflected the criticism, insisting she was doing her best. Instead of owning up to her errors, she blamed everything from kitchen equipment to seasickness for her lackluster performance.Chef Mila also disregarded the input of her fellow crew members, who expressed concerns over food safety when Mila served undercooked steak. Her refusal to collaborate with the crew or listen to feedback demonstrated a sense of entitlement and arrogance that shocked everyone involved.

1Ellie Dubaich

There has been no more entitledBelow Deckcast member than Ellie. She started bossing around third stew Bri almost immediately, and her behavior only worsened when Joe flirted with both her and Bri. When Bri tried to stand up for herself, Ellie would yell about hierarchy and disrespect, despite doing nothing to ever earn Bri’s respect. She harbors a desire to become chief stew, but seems to think that being in charge means micromanaging and yelling at her fellow stews.

28

Škofja Loka, Slovenia

When Aesha welcomed a fourth stew aboard the Mustique, Ellie should have been happy. Instead, she felt threatened by Carrie O’Neill because of her experience as a chief stew aboard another vessel. Ellie proceeded to assert her dominance over Carrie, even trying to usurp service responsibilities despite Carrie’s experience as a bartender. Her entitled attitude is shocking, and Ellie shouldn’t return to theBelow Deckfranchise.
