But this crisis may have helped Bruce Wayne find gear that could be a permanent addition to his usual gadgets.
InAbsolute Power #2by Mark Waid and Dan Mora, the remaining heroes gather atthe Fortress of Solitudeto come up with a plan. Unfortunately, just as Batman and his allies don backup gear, Waller sends Brainiac Queen, Jon Kent, and one of her Task Force VII agents to bring them all in.
Batman runs off to get a Phantom Zone Projector until he’s throttled by the Amazo Global Guardian. The android mocks the Dark Knight asking what fancy toys his new Batsuit holds,only for Batman to activate the ultra-sonics hidden in his gloves.
Batman’s New Gloves Can Project High-Frequency Ultra-Sonics
In an instant, the heroes' world went to hell. Waller turned the public against metahumans by pumping out AI-generated videos that showed superheroes attacking civilians. Once the heroes turned out to defend themselves, Waller unleashed Task Force VII, who used their Amazo tech to siphon the powers of the world’s greatest superheroes. Many metahumans were de-poweredand imprisoned in Waller’s holding facility on the island nation of Gamorra. But some managed to escape and have been on the run, building up a small, but dedicated resistance against Waller as she tries to end the ‘threat’ of metahumans for good.
Despite the very dire circumstances Batman is in right now, this backup Batsuit and his special gauntlets could prove to be a godsend. Aside from the fact that it’s able to do some serious damage to Global Guardian, it’s just a cool weapon that’s hidden in the most inconspicuous of places. Who would expect sonic pulses from a guy who prefers to use his hands for punching? Granted, this is an emergency situation, so obviously Bruce gonna embrace tech he might not ordinarily use. ButBatman should strongly consider making these high-frequency gauntlets a mainstay in his arsenal.
Batman’s New Gloves Would Be His Usual Villains' Worst Nightmare
No one likes loud, piercing noises, so the usual burglars and crooks the Caped Crusader deals with would likely really hate these things. But aside from being incredibly grating, these gloves would be incredibly effective against more resilient villains like Clayface or Man-Bat. They’re non-lethal, which is right in Batman’s wheelhouse, and they make up for any power discrepancies when Bruce is fighting villains who are a bit more durable. Sure, these gloves aren’t as catchy or fun as Batarangs, but in a life-or-death situation, these could seriously helpBatmanout of any jam he runs into.
