Metroid Prime 4was announced back in 2017 during that year’s E3, but it has undergone a difficult development process – one that was even restarted from scratch. Originally developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the game’s development process was then reset and handed to Retro Studios, which was responsible for the development of the previous title in the Nintendo series.Now, the game is closer than ever, as the Nintendo Direct event revealed thatMetroid Prime 4will be released at some point in 2025.

Another title that had already been announced and that has now received extra details during the Nintendo Direct event isPokémon Legends: Z-A.Despite the recent deep-dive into the game’s systems during Pokémon Day, Nintendo showcased more features that the upcoming title in the classic monster-collecting series will have. One of them is the day and night cycle. With it, when night falls on Lumiose City, the area’s aura changes, and Trainers come out tobattle inPokémon Legends: Z-A.

As seen in the trailer, these Trainers will be located in designated Battle Zones, much like the Wild Zones that are made available across the playable map. A lot of the battles can be done on the streets, but the trailer confirms that even rooftops will serve as arenas.Another battle mechanic introduced in the trailer is sneak attacks, which can be performed against Trainers in Battle Zones, giving the player the upper hand in combat. One of the player’s main goals will be to participate in the Z-A Royale tournament inPokémon Legends: Z-A.

Players will start at rank Z and, as they battle and progress, climb the ladder toward rank A.

Furthermore, this Nintendo Direct served as a stage to showcase a new Virtual Game Card system, which will treat players’ digital games as game cards, allowing them to play the title on other systems and even lend their games to Nintendo Switch Family Account group members.
