Despite rumors to the contrary,Alexa Blissmade her long-awaited return toWWEin the Women’sRoyal Rumblematch. She entered at position 21, sporting new ring gear and her usual Harley Quinn vibes, but with a couple of major hints that her booking will align her with the Wyatt Sicks.
Reports ahead of the tentpole event suggested that Bliss was not in Indianapolis for the event, prompting commentator Wade Barrett to shout “don’t believe the dirt sheets!” as she made her entrance. Bliss' appearance was not expected, but like the returning Charlotte Flair, she returned for the first time since 2023.
Alexa Bliss was originally due to return to WWE onthe January 13 episode ofRaw, but those plans were canceled last minute with Bliss andWWE reportedly unable to negotiate a final contract stand-off. And on the eve of theRoyal Rumble, an update on Bliss' current status(via PWInsider Elite) suggested she wouldn’t be appearing because she wasn’t in Indianapolis having attended a music concert in Orlando Florida to support her husband Ryan Cabrera.
PWInsider’s initial report also included word that there had been no movement on Bliss' hotly anticipated return or the ongoing contract dispute. The outlet later reported that Bliss had been spotted backstage ahead of the event. Clearly, there was some misdirection at play here, as Bliss made her first appearance after taking an extended period off for maternity leave. There were also wider reports that the contract issues were so far from a resolution that a re-signing was called unlikely, prompting some premature reactions on social media that Bliss could find her way to AEW instead.
Bliss was quickly eliminated by Liv Morgan, who entered at number 2. She was joined as a surprise entrant in the Rumble match by former TNA star Jordyn Grace, Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella, whose return marked her first appearance in WWE in 3 years.
Alexa Bliss' New Ring Gear Hints She’ll Join The Wyatt Sicks
Logic would suggest that Bliss will link up with the Wyatt Sicks now that she’s seemingly settled the contract dispute with WWE. Her ring gear at the Royal Rumble offered a hint of those rumors, as the jacket she wore for the start of her ring walk was emblazoned with “Fiend 4 Ever” across the back.
That is both a tribute to Bray Wyatt, of course, but also feels like a signal of booking intent, given another costume Easter Egg linked toWWE’s Wyatt collective: the grotesque new look Lilly ragdoll Alexa carried to the ring notably had a 6 on one of its eyes. Does that mean we can expect Bliss to take up her fitting position as the sixth member of the Wyatt Sicks?
