Now thatFrasier’s 2023 revival is canceled, and its third season isn’t happening for the foreseeable future, this could be the end of Frasier Crane’s story. This is particularly sad for some of the character arcs that were developing nicely during season 2 of the show, not only for Crane but for the show’s supporting characters, too.
The season’s finale opened up a whole new chapterin the life of Alan Cornwall, Frasier’s old friend from college. Meanwhile, Frasier’s son Freddy might have had some complicated questions to answer about his love life if the show had continued. His father already had a blossoming romance to carry on with, which viewers only got to enjoy for a couple episodes before the show’s cancelation. There was even a chance thatFrasier could have returned to talk radio. Although it looks like the series is over, it’s still worth imagining how four storylines particularly intriguing could have played out in hypothetical future seasons.

1Alan Getting To Know His Daughter & Grandchild
He Only Met Them At The Very End Of Season 2’s Finale
IfFrasierreally had to end, at least it got to end onthe happy and heartwarming note of Alan Cornwall reconnecting with his daughterand meeting his new granddaughter. Cornwall came back into Frasier’s life when he moved back to Boston, but was still estranged from all of his own children until the final moments of the revival’s second season. With the help of Frasier’s son Freddy, however, Alan’s daughter Nora is persuaded to spend Christmas with him, and introduce him to her daughter Julia.
Where Was Nicholas Lyndhurst’s Alan During Cheers & Frasier’s Original Series?
The Frasier reboot introduced Nicholas Lyndhurst’s Alan as Frasier’s long-time best friend – so where was he in the previous two shows?
It’s a touching moment for the show to go out on, but the show’s cancelation has also prevented audiences from seeing Alan get to know Nora again, and Julia for the first time.Alan was the most important success story during season 2 ofFrasier’s revival, with his mischievous wit and complex backstory leaving many layers of his character still to be unpicked in further episodes. With part of his family back in his life, there were other sides of Alan Cornwall to see, as well as the possibility thatNora could help him get in touch with his other estranged children.

2Frasier & Holly’s New Romance
They Got Together In The Penultimate Episode
Aside from his own happy ending, Alan had a big hand in ensuringFrasier’s second season endedin the best way possible for its title character. Cornwall talked Frasier’s new love interest Holly around after she seemingly got cold feet about their relationship.Frasier and Hollywerethe biggest will they/won’t they story of the revival show, so seeing them finally get together in its penultimate episode, and stay together in its last episode, was a satisfying conclusion to the season.
Frasier: 5 Relationships That Fans Loved (& 5 That Fans Hated)
Whether fans loved or hated the dynamic relationships between Frasier’s characters, they definitely solidified its status as a sitcom icon.
Yet it shouldn’t have been the end of the story. Viewers barely got to see Frasier and Holly as a couple at all, sotheir relationship dynamic would have been an intriguing one to exploreacross the length of a further season. Given Frasier’s past relationship difficulties, it would have been interesting to see how he coped with this latest chapter of his love life.

3The Teased Freddy, Eve & Alice Love Triangle
Freddy And Alice Hit It Off At The Christmas Party While Eve Looked Jealous
Frasier himself wasn’t the only one with a romantic storyline in the works. His sonFreddy seemed enamored with Alice Doyle at the end ofFrasier’s second season. The two of them had chemistry from the moment Alice was introduced as a character midway through the second season. What’s more, their links to the history of the original show, withAlice the daughter of Frasier’s former colleague Roz, make them a match made inFrasierheaven.
While Freddy and Alice seemed to have hit it off, however,Freddy’s best friend Eve couldn’t be ruled out as a possible love interestfor Frasier’s son either. She seemed to get Freddy better than anybody else, and in some ways he filled the space that her former husband left in her life when he passed away. She didn’t look too pleased to see sparks flying between Freddy and Alice, and there was the potential for a love rivalry to develop between the two women. That Freddy was also the best friend of Eve’s husband would certainly have complicated any dalliance they had, though.

4The Possibility For Bebe Glazer To Bring Back Frasier’s Talk Show
Bebe Was Planning It, And Frasier Clearly Missed His Old Job
It was great to see Frasier’s scheming talent agent in the original show,Bebe Glazer, return for a cameo in season 2of the revival series. Harriet Sansom Harris’ character might have had more on her mind than just a quick stopover in Boston, though. She’s set on “convincing” her former client “to revive his talk show,” which made him a radio star over in Seattle duringFrasier’s first run. Frasier even revisits his old radio station in the eighth episode of the revival series’ second season, further hinting thathis return to talk radio could have been on the cardsin the now-canceled season 3.
Does Frasier Have A Secret Daughter With Bebe Glazer? Frasier Season 2 Mystery Explained
In a big plot twist, new clues suggest that Frasier and Bebe may have a secret daughter. But, is it really possible for the pair to have a love child?
In fact,Frasier’s executive producer Joe Cristalli toldTVLinelast October that “God willing” he hoped Bebe and her daughter Phoebe could return in the next season of the series, implying that Crane’s radio show was very much back on the table. Even if it were just for a one-off episode, this storyline would have been a revival in the truest sense of the word. As it is, fans will have to settle for Bebe’s brief cameo, and Frasier’s fleeting reminiscences about his old job in Seattle during season 2. In any case, he had a great run, both on the radio and on television.
