ThroughoutBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5, Danni Warren made it clear she wasn’t happy with the Chief Stew working above her, butshe couldn’t take the heat in the position herself. Danni’s time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5was confusing for some and exciting for others. The new stew shook things up in a way that was both concerning and made it obvious that she was looking for major change. Though she didn’t make big enough waves for Captain Glenn Shephard to take her seriously, she stirred up trouble in a way that couldn’t be ignored.
Danni’s time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtcame at a pivotal momentfor the series. Although the show has only been on since 2020, the drama ofBDSY’scast members both on and off screenhas been a major focal point of the show. WhenBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 4showed Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and Chief Engineer Colin MacRae getting into a relationship after years of flirting around one another, things changed dramatically for the dynamic of the crew, especially for First Officer Gary King. Gary’s jealousy over his longtime friends’ romance was overwhelming to watch unfold.

While some of Danni’s criticisms were valid, I don’t think she’d be able to take on Daisy’s responsibilities.
During theBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 4 reunion, it was revealed that Colin and Daisy had broken up after the show wrapped, and Gary came at Daisy for her behavior throughout the season. Just days later, Daisy and Gary returned to the show to film the next season, while Colin moved forward away from the series. Daisy and Gary’s tension from the reunion followed them to the show, and whenDanni entered the cast alongside her fellow stew Diana Cruz, it was clear there was more going on than met the eye between the former friends and department heads.

AsBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5 got underway,Danni’s behavior toward Daisybegan to make viewers question things they’d known about the show for seasons. Primarily, Danni’s difficulty with Daisy caused viewers to wonder if Daisy was good at her job, which has never been a concern before. While Daisy had a difficult season onBelow Deck Sailing Yacht, her abilities were overshadowed by the issues she faced within the crew, making it impossible for her to do her job well. While some of Danni’s criticisms were valid,I don’t think she’d be able to take on Daisy’s responsibilities.
8Danni Isn’t Experienced Enough
She’s Only Been Yachting For A Few Years
AlthoughDanni’s time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtdid prove she’s able to do a decent job as a stew, her yachting experience isn’t strong enough yet to bring her into a crew as a Chief Stew. While Danni’s time aboard Parsifal III proved she knew her job well, she had a lot of issues on board, too. The season wasn’t easy and tested her thoroughly, and even when she was offered ways to improve, Danni felt she knew best.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
Rather than accepting help and admitting that she understood she had more to learn, Danni often tried to make others believe she knew what she was doing to an extent that made her failures even bigger than they needed to be.Danni’s inexperience doesn’t make her a bad yachtie, but it does mean she’s not preparedfor the challenges she’d face as a Chief Stew. Daisy needs far more practice before she’s ready to take on a leadership role.
7Danni Is Too Boy-Crazy
She’s Too Focused On Guys
ThroughoutBelow Deck Sailing Yacht, it was clear thatDanni had an interest in the guyson board. While she wasn’t looking for anything serious,Danni was attracted to the men of the crew and didn’t shy away from that. This isn’t a bad thing at all, and the drama that came from her dynamics with guys like Keith Allen and Chase Lemacks wasn’t something she needed to be ashamed of, but it did take over a lot of her time on board.
While Danni was focused on her work to an extent, she was also focused on her outside relationships with the guys on the crew. Danni trying to attract the male members of Parsifal III’s crew wasn’t something she should’ve put ahead of her work. If she was vying for a Chief Stew role,Danni would need to be a bit less boy-crazyand more focused on the work.
6Captain Glenn Couldn’t Trust Danni The Way He Trusts Daisy
His Rapport With Daisy Is Long-Standing
After years of working with Daisy as his Chief Stew, changing things up will likely be tough for Captain Glenn Shephard whenever that shift does happen.Captain Glenn and Daisy had some difficult timesthroughoutBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5, and the tension between them was palpable in a way it hadn’t been before. With Daisy struggling through her season and making some seemingly rookie mistakes,Captain Glenn struggled with how to deal with such a long-standing crew member.
Throughout Daisy’s charter season, however, it was clear that she was someone that Captain Glenn and Gary trusted, which isn’t something Danni could replicate so quickly. Danni, having only one season’s worth of experience on Parsifal III, couldn’t take over for someone with as much experience as Daisy. While Captain Glenn liked Danni,he’d struggle to trust her the way he does Daisy.
5Danni Seems Confrontational
She Can’t Be Diplomatic
AsDannimoved through her time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5, viewers got the opportunity to see how she handled difficult moments with charter guests and crew members alike. In dealing with drama, it became clear thatDanni is a more confrontational person than anticipated by just looking at her. Danni was quick to get into a more confrontational interaction than nearly anyone else on the crew, facing her problems in a direct way that was sometimes a bit too intense for others to deal with.
Danni’s behavior was difficult to watch, and likely more difficult to live through. While she was open about the way she felt, it was very overwhelming to watch her work through issues without being diplomatic at all. Danni’s seemingly confrontational nature was tough for the crew with her as a stew, andbringing that into a Chief Stew role would be difficult.
4Danni Can’t Truly Handle The Pressure Of Leading A Team
She Can’t Take The Heat
Although Danni is more confrontational when she feels people are disrespectfully coming at her, she’s also someone who often feels the pressure of her decisions heavily. While she tries to give off an airy, uncaring vibe in her actions, it’s clear thatDanni cares deeply about the way others feel about her and treat her. She was often shown onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5 struggling with the way Daisy was treating her but had issues with other crew members throughout the season as well.
With Danni unable to let the way others treat her roll off her back, it’s obvious to me that she’s not ready to manage a team yet.Every little thing bothered Dannithroughout the season, and crew members who have to manage others have to be able to deflect those issues off of them at the moment to work well and prioritize the guests.Danni needs to mature a bit before she’s prepared for a Chief Stew position.
3Danni’s Time Aboard Parsifal III Was Too Dramatic
She Hasn’t Experienced A Drama-Free Charter Season
Danni spent the majority of her time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtentrenched in drama. While she was able to work well and handle herself throughout her time on the sailing yacht,Danni took every opportunity to create dramafor herself or insert herself into the drama of others. While this is a great quality for reality TV,it isn’t a great quality for a leadership role on a working sailing yachtwhere charter guests are the primary concern.
Danni’s ability to work despite the drama was impressive in many moments, but the fact that she spent a lot of her time on Parsifal III dealing with drama wasn’t a positive in the way she hoped.Danni’s inability to move past the drama for the sake of her work was toughto watch in moments. Without the experience of a charter season that doesn’t rely heavily on drama, Danni wouldn’t be prepared to move into a leadership position.
2Danni Couldn’t Handle Other People’s Problems
She’s Too Self-Involved
Danni spent a lot of her time on boardhandling her own drama, but when she was met with other people’s problems, she didn’t know how to react. Early on in the season, when fellow stew Diana was dealing with issues of her own, Danni couldn’t bring herself to care. Until she was able to insert herself into the drama and make it about herself,Danni didn’t have much empathy for the way Diana was being treated.
While Danni does appear to be caring, her self-absorption has been difficult to watch play out over the course of the season. Her time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachthas shown her true colors, and while it’s clear that she cares for others, Danni has been heavily focused on her own drama to the point of destruction. As a Chief Stew,Danni would have to put her self-centered nature aside for the season and handle other people’s problems, which she doesn’t seem ready to do.
She Needs More Time As A Stew
d
WhileDanni could make a great Chief Stewin the future, her lack of experience and her thirst for drama have made it clear that she’s not ready for the role. While Daisy may not be coming back forBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 6, it’s possible that we could see Danni on the show again in the upcoming season. Though it’d be interesting to see them square off again,I’d rather have another Chief Stew come in to show Danni the ropes.
Though it’d be interesting to see Danni in the role at some point, I don’t think she’s ready to take the leap yet asshe hasn’t proven herself to viewers or in the industry in general. Danni has to work a lot more to be able to get to a Chief Stew standing. While I hopeBelow Deck Sailing Yachtsees her again, it shouldn’t be in a leadership role just yet.
