The worlds ofWednesdayandBeetlejuice Beetlejuicecollide in a new piece of art that features Wednesday Addams trying to summon Betelgeuse. Serving as an adaptation of the memorableThe Addams Familycharacter,Wednesdaywas released on Netflix in 2022, with Jenna Ortega in the title role. As the wait forWednesdayseason 2continues, Ortega recently appeared in Tim Burton’sBeetlejuice Beetlejuice, taking on the role of Astrid Deetz, daughter to Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz, who was a central character in the 1988 original film.
Now, a new piece of art shared by@beedkneeimagines a crossover betweenWednesdayandBeetlejuice Beetlejuice. In addition to Ortega’s version of the character, the art also includes Christina Ricci’s take on the character as seen inThe Addams Family(1991) andAddams Family Values(1993), with both saying the name “Beetlejuice,” to summon him. Ryder’s Lydia also features in the art, stopping the pair from saying the name a third time and summoning Michael Keaton’s chaotic bio-exorcist. Check out the art below:

What A Beetlejuice Crossover Would Mean For Wednesday
Connective Tissue Between Wednesday & Beetlejuice Explained
IfBeetlejuice BeetlejuiceandWednesdayfeel at all similar, it’s probably because Burton has a hand in both. Prior to directing hisBeetlejuicesequel, the filmmaker directed four episodes ofWednesdayseason 1while also serving as an executive producer on the show. Stylistically, then, there probably wouldn’t be a major shift if the two worlds were to crossover.
Burton is confirmed to direct multiple episodes ofWednesdayseason 2, in addition to returning as an executive producer.

Why Jenna Ortega’s Astrid Resents Winona Ryder’s Lydia So Much In Beetlejuice 2
In Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Astrid is skeptical of Lydia’s ability to be a supportive mother and does not believe her mother is a medium.
In many ways,Lydia and Wednesday are similar characters, with both having interests in the world of death and the macabre. Both also, as seen in the art above, sport wardrobes consisting mostly of blacks and other dark colors. Astrid, too, takes after her mother in many ways, meaning bothBeetlejuice Beetlejuicecharacterswould certainly work well in the world ofWednesday. The only problem with a crossover, of course, is that Ortega features in both properties, which could be challenging to explain.

Our Take On The Wednesday/ Beetlejuice Crossover Art
What Form A Crossover Could Take
Although it’s not hard to imagine an epic crossover betweenWednesdayand the world ofBeetlejuice Beetlejuice, one feels unlikely to happen on-screen. Instead, the art above suggests that the best way for the two worlds to meet would be on the page in some kind of comic or graphic novel. Doing a crossover this way would be less of a risk creatively and financially than doing so on the big or small screen, but it has the potential to be just as entertaining and darkly charming.
