In an interview withTVLine,Schlaepfer and Sklenar shared their thoughts on the possibility of Alex expecting a child and how their characters might react to such news. While their answers leave much to speculate, theytease the potential challenges the couple could face if parenthood is on the horizon. There is no doubt about Spencer’s love for Alex and his desire to build a future with the aristocratic woman, even as obstacles continue to mount. Addressing whether Alex’s seasickness hints at something more, Schlaepfer said the following:

Listen, Alex and Spencer went through a lot in Season 1.She’s been through it.I can’t say where that sickness comes from or if, you know, I even found out what that sickness is from. But I do believe them being on so many ships, and so many shipwrecks, I would imagine she’s feeling pretty unwell.
Sklenar offered insightinto Spencer’s potential reaction as well. Here’s what he had to say:

It would motivate him, you know? He’s really on a path of wanting to have a life with her and have her at the ranch, andhe definitely has to have children one day — because he has purpose, and he has something to live for, and he’s just really hooked into that purpose, you know? So, anything that would further fuel that,I think he’d be fully accepting and embracing of it.

10 Reasons 1883 & 1923 Are Better Than Yellowstone
The story of the Dutton family may have started with the original Yellowstone series, but its two prequel series occasionally manage to outshine it.
Spencer’s reaction, as Sklenar suggested, would likely drive him to take even greater risks. His determination to protect Alex—and potentially their child—could redefine his character arc in1923season 2, breaking him out of his tortured past as a soldier and hunter into a loyal protector with a renewed sense of self. While the1923season 2 teaser trailerappears to show Alex having a harder time making it to Bozeman, her resilience and determination throughout their life-threatening adventures prove she’s more than capable of rising to the occasion.
