1000-Lb SistersstarChris Combshas lost a significant amount of weight over the last few years, but a recent setback threatened to derail his weight-loss journey. The unscripted show centers on the lives of sisters Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton, but several of their other siblings, including 44-year-old Chris, also play a big role in the show. Like many of his siblings, Chris struggled with his weight his whole life and into adulthood.
Wanting to be a good role model for his family and inspired by his famous sisters, the1000-lb Sistersseason 6co-star decided to do something about his weight. After having weight-loss surgery, Chris lost weight, and it changed his life completely. Despite his best efforts,Chris recently suffered a disappointing weight-loss setback.
He Lost 150 Pounds
Chris embarked on his weight-loss journeyalongside his step-sisters, Tammy and Amy. Wanting to emulate their weight-loss success for the sake of a healthier life,Chris recognized the need for medical intervention. During1000-lb Sistersseason 3, Chris underwent weight-loss surgery and rapidly lost weight. He went from weighing over 450 pounds to weighing 300; he intends to lose even more weight.

An Extraordinary Transformation
Losing weight changed Chris' lifeand, in March, the1000-lb Sistersstar’s doctor,Dr. Eric Smith, posted an amazing before and after of Chris on Instagram. On the left side of the screen is a photo of Chris taken before he lost weight, wearing his fast-food uniform, and on the right side isa more recent photo of a slimmed-down Chris finishing a 5k run. Like his sisters, Tammy and Amy, Chris' weight-loss transformation has been extraordinary to say the least.

Was Denied Skin Removal Surgery
During1000-lb Sistersseason 6, Chris saw his doctor. When he stepped on the scale,it read that he weighed 299 pounds. During his last appointment nine months earlier,Chris weighed 300 pounds, which is about the same. He was disappointed by the plateau. His doctor denied his request for surgical removal of the excess skin left behind by Chris' rapid weight loss. Disappointed but undeterred, Chris planned to redouble his efforts to achieve his weight-loss goals.
