Summary
Hogwarts Legacyis a game ripe for roleplaying, with a vast and detailed world to explore and a faithful recreation of Hogwarts to interact with. These unwritten rules of roleplay can really help players get into a magical mood and feel truly transported into the world ofHogwarts Legacy.
While many of these rules will require players to invest a lot more time and effort, it is definitely worth it, asthe more immersive payoff makes for a far better experience overall. Unfortunately, there are quite a few missing features, like being unable tobecome an Animagus inHogwarts Legacy, that can get in the way of roleplaying at times. However, there is a lot that fans of the game can do to make up for them and really get into theHogwarts Legacyspirit.

10 Features Hogwarts Legacy 2 Needs to Borrow From Other Games
There are multiple features that’d improve the Hogwarts Legacy sequel, and there are games to borrow from that already do those features well.
10Avoid Using Fast Travel
There Are So Many Secrets To Uncover By Actually Exploring
Hogwarts Legacyis a truly enormous game, so it’s understandable that players would rely on the fast travel mechanic. However, while it is convenient,it does detract from the immersive aspect ofHogwarts Legacyand all the incredible effort that’s gone into its densely detailed world. From small details like catching villagers stumbling home drunk to larger discoveries like some ofHogwarts Legacy’sstill unsolved mysteries, there’s a lot to find by simply exploring.
For those with a lot of self-control and plenty of time to dedicate toHogwarts Legacy, avoiding fast travel is a great way to really immerse oneself in the game. The lush landscapes of the Scottish Highlands are also just a joy to wander around, whether on foot or on a broom. There’s also the amazing Hippogriff and Thestrals that players can ride once they’ve been unlocked, which are easily more enjoyable and immersive than fast traveling.

9Traveling By Floo Flame
Find A Floo Flame To Fast Travel
For those who insist on fast traveling inHogwarts Legacy, thenit’s best to head to a Floo Flame first before fast traveling. While it can be very tempting to simply open up the map and select a fast travel point, players who want to keep things as immersive as possible should first go to their nearest Floo Flame. In theHarry Potteruniverse, wizards and witches can’t simply appear at a Floo Flame whenever they want, they must first go to a Floo Flame and travel from there.
However, there is the small problem of the incredibly annoying Floo Flame lady, Ignatia Wildsmith. Fortunately, there are ahandful of incredibleHogwarts Legacymods, including one that removes all of her dialogue entirely. With so many Floo Flames scattered acrossHogwarts Legacy’sopen world, there shouldn’t be any problems finding one before fast traveling.

Mods are only available for the PC version ofHogwarts Legacy; there is no mod support on console.
8Wear School Robes In School
Throwing On Robes Helps Players Blend In And Feel Immersed
While there are plenty of clothing options inHogwarts Legacy, it is definitely vital to dress for the occasion. When exploring Hogwarts, attending classes, or simply hanging around in the school grounds,it’s important to switch into school robes or at least school attire. This could include Quidditch gear, a snazzy school jumper, or whatever suits the player.
There are a lot of unique school robes and other apparel that the player can find by exploringHogwarts Legacy’sopen world or completing missions. There shouldn’t be any problems with locating new clothing if the basic school robes don’t appeal.

This way, players won’t stand out when exploring the corridors of Hogwartsand will blend in with their fellow students. It’ll also make cutscenes and missions set within the school feel far more immersive. Above all, it allows the player to better roleplay the school sim fantasy thatHogwarts Legacymostly delivers.
20 Best Games Like Hogwarts Legacy
The Harry Potter prequel is a unique wizarding experience, but there are other games like Hogwarts Legacy that can give players even more to enjoy.
7Changing Outfits Per Season
When It Gets Cold, Switch Into Something Warm
It can be hard to remember to switch outfits inHogwarts Legacy, especially once the player has settled on a great look. However, to stay immersed in the world ofHogwarts Legacyand roleplay a little,it’s important to switch outfits when the seasons change. Players shouldn’t be running around in thin robes when winter strikes, nor should they be exploring in thick coats and scarves during the summer.
Each season only lasts for a handful of missions, so players won’t be wearing clothes they don’t want to for too long. However, there are great options for both warm and light clothing inHogwarts Legacythat will keep players satisfied. This even includes headwear, of which there are manygreat hats inHogwarts Legacy.

6Don’t Change The Time Of Day
Make The Most Of Each Day By Filling Every Hour With Activities
Much like fast traveling inHogwarts Legacy, it can be all too tempting to change the time of day. Considering all the students disappear from the halls in Hogwarts when night strikes, it can also feel quite lonely. However, while changing the time of day may feel like the best move, when it comes to roleplaying, it makes no sense.
As the player will stay in the exact same place once the time has changed, it implies that they just stood there for hours on end doing nothing. Instead, the player should make the most of every hour, doing side tasks and activities when it gets darker and the other students have gone to bed. There’s nothing wrong with never sleeping, ever.
5Sleep In The Dormitory
For those who would rather roleplay their character sleeping through the night, then passing the time is a necessity. To do this as immersively as possible inHogwarts Legacy,it is important to head back to the common room and pass the time next to a bed. Players can even pick which bed is theirs in the dormitory and sleep there each night.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to actually get into a bed inHogwarts Legacy. Instead, players will simply need to stand next to the bed and then change the time on the menu.
Among the manyfeatures that aHogwarts Legacysequel should include, the ability to sleep in a bed and sit on a chair is essential, especially for those who like to roleplay. Players will have to use their imagination a little bit in order to make this work. However, not only will it immerse players further into their playthrough ofHogwarts Legacy,it will also give them a good excuse to see the incredibly detailed common rooms more often.
All 4 Hogwarts Legacy Common Rooms, Ranked Worst To Best
Each of the four common rooms in the Hogwarts Castle are impressive, but in Hogwarts Legacy’s recreation of them, one of them feels more like home.
4Walk, Don’t Run
Running Everywhere Doesn’t Make A Lot Of Sense
Running, or at least jogging, is often the default when it comes to movement in video games. Players will sprint to each destination to get there as quickly as possible, and to avoid gently pushing the joystick forward or holding down a key. However, realistically, people don’t sprint absolutely everywhere, and neither do NPCs in video games.
It’s important for those who want to truly roleplay being a student at Hogwarts inHogwarts Legacythat they don’t run everywhere. Instead, players should walk to each destination, only running in combat or urgent situations. That way, it’ll not only feel more realistic, but players won’t be crashing into NPCs everywhere they go.
Hogwarts Legacy: Every Character Related To Someone From The Books
Hogwarts Legacy takes place long before Harry Potter is born, but it features plenty of characters whose descendants appear in the books and movies.
3Don’t Learn The Dark Art Spells
Killing Other People As A 15-Year-Old
Learning the Dark Arts spells is one of the manyimportant choices inHogwarts Legacy. It can be incredibly tempting to learn them, as they are the most powerful spells in the game. However, it isn’t worth it, especially for those who are roleplaying as a serious student inHogwarts Legacy.
Knowing the Dark Arts spells doesn’t really make much sense at the age of 15 inHogwarts Legacy. More importantly, however, killing other people without any repercussions, let alone a sense of guilt, is nonsensical. Those who are roleplaying or want to feel immersed inHogwarts Legacyshould avoid learning the Dark Arts entirely.
2Lean Into House Traits
Players Should Adopt The Personality Traits Of The House They Picked
Players looking to roleplay inHogwarts Legacyshould try toadopt as many personality traits from their chosen house as possible. For example, those who chose Gryffindor could take on more dangerous side quests and charge headfirst into battle. Alternatively, those who picked Ravenclaw could take a more careful approach to combat encounters, stealthily taking out their foes.
This is also a great way to add replayability toHogwarts Legacy, asit’ll force players to think about the dialogue options they pick and the missions they accept. Next time, when they pick a different house, players could then complete whatever content they missed the first time around. It’s a great way to engage with not justHogwarts Legacy’sopen world but also give more weight to the house the player was assigned.
1Reduce The HUD
Turning Off Certain HUD Elements Will Make The Game More Immersive
The easiest andmost surefire way to makeHogwarts Legacymore immersive is to reduce the HUD elements. This includes switching off the mini-map, turning off notifications, and turning off quest tracking, among other options. This will not only remove the screen clutter but also bring into focus all the gorgeous environmental detail once covered by the HUD.
Turning off the HUD elements inHogwarts Legacyis done via the User Interface Options section in the settings menu. The player just needs to go through the options and turn them off one by one.
While there is some important information worth keeping on the HUD, for those who want a completely uninterrupted experience, they can turn off every HUD element in the game. By far, the best one to turn off is the minimap, as it allows players to explore the world at their own pace and stumble across new areas by accident. Combined with the other roleplaying tips, this makesHogwarts Legacya truly immersive experience that is perfect for roleplaying as a Hogwarts student.
