10Charlie Brown Writes a Letter Asking for Advice
First Published: July 01, 2025
In this first strip, Charlie Brown decides to write to an advice columnist in hopes of getting advice. As he writes his letter, though, he realizes that he isn’t exactly sure what advice he wants from her. Instead, he decides to keep his plea open to interpretation:“Just send me some advice.“This line certainly warrants a chuckle, but it’s also a bit heartbreaking when you consider Charlie Brown’s history.
Since thefirstPeanutscomic, Charlie Brown has been an underdog, always facing ridicule as a result of his perpetual misfortune. It’s no wonder, then, that he’s decided to seek advice. There’s no specific situation he needs advice for, as the guidance he requires is much more general, so he’ll take anything he can get. Hopefully, this ends up helping Charlie Brown in the long run.

8Sally Ponders Life’s Futility While Jumping Rope
First Published: July 03, 2025
Charlie Brown’s little sister, Sally, features in this next strip. She’s seen jumping rope and having as pleasant a time as ever, until she abruptly stops out of nowhere. Then, she starts to cry. Linus rushes over to ask her what’s wrong. Sally explains that she was just jumping rope until, as she puts it,“Suddenly it all seemed so futile!”
This moment is surprisingly philosophical for a character as laid-back as Sally. Usually, her lackadaisical demeanor allows her to enjoy life while paying no mind to the deeper questions that might haunt other characters, like Charlie Brown. It looks like her big brother’s pessimism has started to rub off on her, though, as poor Sally can’t jump rope without pondering the point of it.

7Lucy’s Classic Football Gag Fools Charlie Brown Again
First Published: June 13, 2025
Lucy loves little more in life than making a fool out of Charlie Brown, and this comic is a pitch-perfect example of this. When she offers to hold a football so Charlie Brown can kick it, he refuses. Then, Lucy surprises him by pulling out a signed document that states she won’t pull the football out from under him. Charlie Brown falls for it, and Lucy yanks the ball once again, revealing that the document was never notarized.
Peanuts' iconic football gagis one of the series' best running jokes that stood the test of time throughout its run. This take on the joke is one of many variations of it, as Lucy finds increasingly hilarious ways to prank Charlie Brown. As much as Charlie Brown likes to believe he’s smart enough to see through her tricks, the repetition of this joke proves otherwise.

6Schroeder Nominates Linus for School President…Almost
First Published: August 15, 2025
With this strip, Linus' candidacy for school president kicks off, as Schroeder takes to the podium to nominate him. Lucy is eager for her friend - and longtime crush - to deliver his speech about Linus, only for Schroeder to get derailed by talking about Beethoven instead. Lucy’s classic"good grief!“is a reasonable response to Schroeder’s silly tangent.
10 Most Underrated Peanuts Characters
While most people can name the major members of the Peanuts Gang, the comic strip mad many memorable characters that are, at times, forgotten.
Schroeder’s most prominent character trait is his dedication to music, and he often presents this through his love for Beethoven. He will seize every opportunity he can to gush about the famous composer, much to the dismay of Lucy, who would much rather flirt with him than hear about music. Even when it comes to politics, Schroeder can’t help but integrate Beethoven somehow.

5Linus Begins His Presidential Campaign (And Snoopy Approves)
First Published: August 07, 2025
Now that Linus has been nominated for school president, it’s time for him to start campaigning. Here, he makes an official decree about the policies he will put into motion if he’s elected. He promotes wage increases for all faculty members, then adds that dogs who trespass on school property will be welcomed. Naturally,Snoopy is the biggest supporterof the latter policy.
What makes this strip hilarious is the contrast between Linus' two proposals. The first is a logical appeal that proves Linus is a good fit for this leadership position after all. The other, of course, is thoroughly silly and only appeals to Snoopy. If Snoopy is eligible to vote, then Linus has earned his endorsement.

4Linus Can’t Fulfill His Campaign Promise For an Adorable Reason
First Published: August 15, 2025
Linus continues his campaign, this time with help from Lucy. He proclaims that, if he’s elected, he will appear before the school board. However, this campaign promise is quickly squandered when Lucy walks over and whispers something to her brother. Linus then sheepishly admits that he won’t be able to meet with the school board after all because he goes to bed before they convene.
Although Linus is one of the more maturemembers of thePeanutsgangdespite being younger, it’s moments like these that serve as a reminder of his immaturity. At the end of the day, Linus is still a little kid who snuggles with his blanket and has an early bedtime, and it’s sweet that Lucy is there to remind him of that fact.

3Snoopy Steals Linus' Spotlight During His Big Break
First Published: July 09, 2025
Since Linus is running for school president, Schroeder offers to take his picture for the school paper. A normal picture of Linus won’t do, though, so he suggests posing with Snoopy. However, once Snoopy joins the picture, he completely takes over and makes himself the center of attention. In the end, Schroeder says he’s changed his mind about adding Snoopy.
Snoopy’s antics make him the star of every comic strip he appears in, even when he isn’t supposed to be. What Schroeder forgets here is that Snoopy is no ordinary dog, evidenced by hisWWI Flying Ace personaand other zany alter egos. As such, while he’s meant to be a supporting role in Linus' picture, Snoopy can’t help but remind everyone that he’s more than just a dog.

2Linus Ruins His Chance at Presidency With 1 Hilarious Callback
First Published: July 08, 2025
As the election nears its end, Linus prepares to deliver one final speech to secure the role of school president. Charlie Brown is excited about the prospect of his friend’s imminent victory, and Lucy is confident that he won’t lose - as long as Linus doesn’t mess up at the last minute. Unfortunately, Lucy’s worst fear comes to pass, as one sentence costs Linus his presidency:“I want to talk to you this morning about the “Great Pumpkin.”
10 Funniest Peanuts Comics About the Disappointment of the Great Pumpkin
Peanuts has the Halloween tradition of the Great Pumpkin, usually followed by the tradition of Linus being disappointed about its no-show every year.
Linus' belief in the Great Pumpkinis his funniest joke inPeanuts, as he continues to be the only member of the gang who believes in the fictitious being. Every year on Halloween night, Linus sits in a pumpkin patch and awaits the arrival of the Great Pumpkin. Of course, this always proves fruitless, yet Linus continues to believe - much to the dismay of those around him.

1The Great Pumpkin Costs Linus the School Election
First Published: August 10, 2025
As Charlie Brown and Lucy predicted, Linus mentioning the Great Pumpkin in his campaign speech causes him to lose the election, drawing that plot to a close. He defends himself to Snoopy by saying that he made the brave choice to choose his belief over the presidency. Snoopy later thinks to himself,“If you’re going to hope to get elected, don’t mention the ‘Great Pumpkin’!”
Snoopy makes a good point here. Lucy, or any other character, would agree that Linus shouldn’t have mentioned the Great Pumpkin to secure his win. On the other hand, it’s commendable that Linus is staying true to himself instead of lying so his peers will accept him. Linus' faith in the Great Pumpkin may be laughable, but it’s still important to him, and he’ll continue to stick to his beliefs throughoutPeanuts' prolific run.
