A longtime Spider-Man actor has joined the list of people who have acted in both Marvel andDC, having two DC credits to his name in 2024 alone. Voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has lent his talent to cartoons, anime, and video games, but perhaps one of his most well-known roles is as the voice ofSpider-Man in the various associated video games. He notably voices the hero inMarvel’s Spider-Manseries by Insomniac Games, which are some of Marvel’s most successful video games in recent years.
The character of Spider-Man isn’t Lowenthal’s only foray into the superhero universe as he has also done some work for other Marvel projects, as well as work for Marvel’s rival studio DC. In August, he wascredited in the animated TV seriesBatman: Caped Crusaderas the supporting characters Darryl Manning and detective Eric Cohen. The series was well-received by fans and perhaps his experience on the show was what prompted Lowenthal to return for his second Batman role of the year.

The scripted drama podcastBatman Unburiedwas first released on Spotify in 2022 and because of its success, was renewed for another season. The second season “Fallen City” premiered earlier this week withColman Domingo voicing Bruce Wayne, Gina Rodriguez voicing Barbara Gordon, and Jason Isaacs voicing Alfred Pennyworth.Lowenthal is actually credited on the project as part of the supporting cast, which can be seen in the credits for episode 8 “Deadly Things.”

However, it is nice to know that the voice actor has managed to stay a consistent presence in the franchise. Both of the projects in his 2024 double Batman header have been well-received. Even if he wasn’t playing a main role in either,it’s a fitting coincidence that his involvement in bothCaped CrusaderandBatman Unburiedhave been released so close to each other.
